Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 4, 2026 · powerbillcruncher.com
This policy explains what PowerBillCruncher collects when you use powerbillcruncher.com, why we collect it, and who we give it to. The short version: we are a lead referral service, and the information you submit is shared with solar providers so they can contact you about a quote.
1. Who we are
PowerBillCruncher operates powerbillcruncher.com and its state subdomains. We are an independent marketing and lead referral service. We are not a utility, not a government agency, and not a solar installer. We do not install equipment or provide financing.
Questions about this policy go to privacy@powerbillcruncher.com.
2. Information you give us
Through our survey we collect:
- Contact details: first and last name, email address, phone number, and property street address, city, state and ZIP code.
- Property and utility details: your approximate monthly electricity bill, your electric utility, whether you own the home, and how much shade your roof gets.
- A self-reported credit range. This is a range you select yourself. We do not run a credit check and we do not obtain your credit score or credit report.
- Your TCPA consent, recorded together with the exact consent language shown to you, the date and time, your IP address, and your browser user-agent string.
3. Information we collect automatically
- Device and connection data: IP address, browser type, operating system, and screen size.
- Usage data: the pages you visit, which survey steps you complete, and how you moved through the site.
- Referral and advertising data: the page that referred you and any campaign parameters in the URL, including utm_source, utm_campaign, and advertising click identifiers such as fbclid.
We use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel on this site. It sets cookies and sends Meta information about your visit and whether you completed our form so we can measure and target advertising. You can control this through your Meta ad preferences and your browser cookie settings. We honor Global Privacy Control signals where required by law.
4. How we share your information
We share the information you submit with third-party solar providers, installers, brokers, and marketing partners. Those companies use it to contact you about solar products and services and to prepare a quote. More than one company may receive your information, and each one contacts you under its own privacy policy, which we do not control.
We also share information with:
- Service providers who run this site for us, such as our hosting provider, our customer relationship management system, and our analytics and advertising platforms.
- Advertising platforms, including Meta, for measurement and audience targeting.
- Anyone we are legally required to share with, including in response to a subpoena, court order, or lawful government request, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
- A buyer or successor, if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
We do not knowingly share your information with anyone whose purpose is unrelated to your solar inquiry.
5. How we use your information
- To generate your estimate and show you your results.
- To connect you with solar providers who can quote your property.
- To contact you ourselves by phone, SMS, and email about your inquiry, subject to the consent you gave.
- To measure, target, and improve our advertising.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and duplicate or fraudulent submissions.
- To meet our legal and recordkeeping obligations, including retaining your TCPA consent record.
6. Text messages and calls
If you checked the consent box, you gave prior express written consent for us and our solar partners to contact you at the number you provided, including with automated dialing systems, prerecorded or artificial voice messages, and SMS, even if your number is on a Do Not Call list. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message and data rates may apply.
You can revoke consent at any time by replying STOP to any text, telling the caller to stop calling, or emailing privacy@powerbillcruncher.com. Revoking consent with us does not automatically revoke it with a partner who already received your information, so you may need to tell them directly as well.
7. Retention
We keep your inquiry information for as long as we need it for the purposes above and to meet our legal obligations. Consent records are kept for at least five years, because we may need them to demonstrate that consent was given.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your choices and rights
Regardless of where you live, you can ask us to give you a copy of the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email privacy@powerbillcruncher.com with the name, phone number, and email you submitted so we can find your record. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Residents of New York are protected by the New York SHIELD Act, which requires us to maintain reasonable data security safeguards. Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have additional rights, including the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. See our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page.
10. Children
This site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor submitted information to us, email us and we will delete it.
11. Third-party sites
Our pages may link to sites we do not operate, including scheduling tools and partner websites. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices, and this policy does not apply to them.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be posted here before they take effect. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
